Abstract

The article is devoted to the problem of intellectual development of elementary school students in the process of learning English. The authors analyze the influence of the objective and subjective component of the English language resource on the intellectual development of young schoolchildren. In the course of the work, the authors studied the work of leading teachers and psychologists on the role of mental activity based on language structures, an attempt was made to assess the impact of integrating English into the educational process of the primary level in Kazakhstan. The paper emphasizes the relevance of the topic in the context of educational reforms of the Republic of Kazakhstan aimed at improving the quality of education and developing students' critical thinking skills and creative abilities [1]. Special attention is paid to methodological support that promotes the intellectual growth of younger schoolchildren, including interactive and cognitive-oriented methods that meet the requirements of the XXI century. Various methods are used in the work, including literature analysis, studying the experience of English teachers, conducting an experiment and summarizing the results. Summarizing the work, the authors note that the intellectual development of primary school students in the process of learning English is provided taking into account the individual characteristics and creative potential of children, the growth of their cognitive motives. Conclusions and recommendations can be an important contribution to the development of effective learning strategies in English lessons that contribute not only to the linguistic, but also to the intellectual development of younger students.
