This article, which we are considering, explores both internal and external factors that influence students' motivation for success, as well as the fact that students' motivation for success directly affects their academic performance, which is especially noticeable in higher education institutions. Psychological theories of motivation, including Maslow's hierarchy of needs and the theory of self-determination, are considered and their impact on students' academic performance is analyzed. The results of the study help determine which methods should be used in the education system to increase students' motivation to study. It is shown that with the right motivational factors, students actively participate in the learning process. Statistical methods of correlation and regression analysis were used to assess the factors influencing student motivation. In addition, psychological theories of motivation were considered and educational strategies aimed at increasing motivation were proposed.
