The importance of didactic games in forming the interest of students in mathematics

This article reveals the features of didactic games as one of the means of forming cognitive interest. The essence of the concept of cognitive interest is described. The concept of didactic play, its essence and characteristics are determined. The role of didactic play in the pedagogical education of children is investigated. Various methods and approaches are described as an effective means of developing interest in mathematics. In the course of the game, students successfully master mathematical ideas, concepts and develop the necessary skills. The main components of the didactic game are shown. In my work, I show the importance of didactic games in the pedagogical process using the example of the use of games in mathematics lessons in grades 5 and 6. Before using the game in the classroom, it is necessary to take into account the psychological characteristics of children of this age and what types of games are suitable for this age.
